The other morning I woke up and starting thinking about my day and the to-do list started to accumulate in my mind. I took a breath and a thought popped into my head.
What do I need to feel supported today?
Not, what do I need to tackle first, not how am I going to get everything done on my list, not how am I going to be more productive…but simply, what do I need to feel supported?
How Brilliant.
This simple question shifted my whole day. I made it my mantra and recited it over and over again.
Instead of a quick and easy toast for breakfast I made fresh juice and sauteed veggies because they help me feel energetic and awake.
I took time to meditate and do my energy medicine routine because it helps to ground and centre me.
I took more breaks. I paused to breathe. And I got through my to-do list and then some.
What if you chose to nurture and support yourself throughout the day? What if you took the time to tune in to your breath and make yourself a priority?
Demands and lists and tasks don’t magically disappear, but the energy that surrounds them shifts, the stress lifts and there is a beauty and peacefulness that can enter your being while you go about your day.
And it just may mean that your priorities shift over time, that you begin to say no more often and create a deeper connection to what is truly important to you.
So on Monday morning, take a moment to pause and ask yourself: What do I need today to feel supported? I would love to hear how this shifts your day, even if it is just for a moment or a breath.
