Hello lovely ladies,
A couple of weeks ago I attended an amazing retreat hosted by stellar coaches Nisha Moodley and Sarah Jenks called LiveFree. The main focus of the weekend was to learn how to start living the most beautiful life possible NOW, rather than waiting until…I have more time, more money, more freedom, etc. We learned how to balance ease with ambition, identify our blocks and how to reorient ourselves towards fun and pleasure.
The weekend was incredible and I was surprised by some of the insights I found.
I have been working on making my self care a priority to make sure I have the energy and the passion to take care of my family and build my business, but since I made the move back to Ottawa four months ago I have been struggling. At the root of it all, I really just have had too much on my plate and I didn’t realize what an emotional toll our move would have on me.
Because of this I had to make choices and the state of my home took the biggest hit. The result is that I have many half unpacked boxes in the basement, odds and ends trailing on the staircase, the kids’ toys are in a state of disaster and my bedroom is a storage space for whatever doesn’t currently have a home.
I work from home, but I always feel rushed. If I am working, the disarray of the house nags at me and if I am tidying, I feel panicked that I am not getting my work done. It is a lose-lose scenario that has left me feeling overwhelmed and chaotic…hmmm sounds like I need some of my own coaching!
So I have made a decision to make some room to pause, regroup and breathe. At LiveFree I realized that caring for the state of my home is just as important of an act of self care as is my daily shower, dancing or yoga. Because my house is chaos, my life feels like chaos.
So I have made a choice to make settling into my home, and making it feel peaceful, a priority. I am putting my business strategy on hold and I am pressing pause on my holistic nutrition studies. For the next three months I am focusing on purging, organizing and bringing harmony to our physical space. I am fulfilling my yoga teaching commitments and wrapping up my Energy Medicine studies. And I am going to breathe.
I am taking time to make a solid foundation for our lives and my business so that when the time is right I can take off with a firm footing.
So until then you may or may not hear form me – I am pressing pause on mariakurylo.com and taking a break from my blog.
But trust me, I will be back with more excitement and passion than before :). Until then I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being with me on this journey and for supporting me.
